Not Long After The Wedding...

It was December 30, 2008. I had been up since 5:00am because Mama had to be at Northside to have her first surgery on her hands. Grace was with me all day and Noah had gone to work with Joey. After surgery and getting meds filled etc, we got home around 8:00pm...I was so tired. I had gotten my second wind, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. So I thought what the heck, it's been a while, I am gonna buy me a six pack of bud. So, after getting settled, Joey and I and the kids pulled out the monopoly game. I was drinking my six pack and just relaxing. After that first one, I told Joey that for some reason, it didn't taste right...it just wasn't hitting the spot like it usually did. I thought they might be expired because of the way they tasted. He looked at me and said, "You're pregnant." I laughed in his face and told him he was crazy! The second beer, the same thing...and after the third, I put the rest in the fridge and was determined I was right, he was wrong and I was writing a letter! The next morning I woke up to the room spinning in circles and a churning stomach. I told Joey, "I knew it! I knew that beer was expired! I'm writing a letter!" and what did he say? "You're pregnant!" He got dressed for work and left still saying the same thing and with me still disagreeing. When I got out of bed to go to the bathroom, I walked to the toilet trying to decide if I was going to stand there and puke or if I was going to pee...sitting on the back of the toilet staring me in the face was a pregnancy test. That Joey is clever. So I thought, I'll have to pee on it and prove him wrong. So I did. I waited what seemed like an eternity...after the 3 long minutes, I looked at it with all the confidence in the world that I was right...and I was wrong. IT WAS POSITIVE! I was extatic! I called Joey and before I could even get the news out of my mouth, you'll never guess what he said!!
